Bunmi Sodade

The Executive Trustee

Bunmi Sodade is the founder and convener of NARP.

She has a professional background in the financial services industry having worked extensively in the banking and insurance sectors at home in Nigeria and abroad and spending a significant part of her career advocating and contributing towards the optimisation of the socio-economic inclusion of marginalized populations into the mainstream.

Bunmi is passionate about the sustainability of financial inclusion and relevance for the 50 years and older demographic and believes strongly that retirees and over 50s will be able to propagate and sustain their influence, interests and experience more effectively for the benefit of the larger society, through the power of well targeted , syndicated negotiations.

She has served on the board of Windsor Women Working with Immigrant Women (W5) a non-profit organisation assisting immigrants and refugees to become integrated in the Canadian society, The North American Black History Museum, and on the committee for Women in Business, Bank of Montreal.

Mrs. Sodade earned a B.Sc (honours) degree in economics from the University of Ife (1986) , an MBA from the School of Business, University of Durham United Kingdom (1999) and a post bachelor’s degree in accounting from Wayne State University, Detroit USA. In addition, she has also earned professional designations from the Financial Planners Standard Council of Canada and the Canadian Securities Institute as a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and Financial Management Analyst (FMA) respectively. Her experience, insight and understanding of the issues required to drive this cause are well credentialed.

She is an avid athlete, squash racquets player and supporter of humanitarian causes. She is happily married with children.
